In a recent Masterclass I attended held by Robert Babicz at my favourite music store Moog Audio in Toronto, Robert challenged the class to make their tracks all in one day. With this challenge in mind I packed up my Eurorack and MS-20 and headed into my friend, production assistant and engineer, Will Brodeur’s studio, Parkdale Transfer. We proceeded to design each sound from the waveform up, sequence, record, arrange and mix the track all in one incredible day, that I will never forget! When I asked Will how we could get the fattest baseline possible on this track he pointed me to his ARP Axxe, where we proceeded to build bass heavier than I had ever heard in any track I have ever made. This hard driving techno track built from all analog sources except from the digital sine wave synth part from the Qu-Bit chord Eurorack module has been named ARP! as it was hand written on Will’s Axxe. I cannot thank Will enough for this day and I hope you all enjoy ARP! and know that many more tracks perhaps also made in a day are to come from The Waveform Generation.
